Bargain Queen

My blog title now has me singing bloody ABBA. Not that it's a bad thing. Love a bit of ABBA. YOOOOUUU CAN DAAAAANCE, YOOOUU CAN JIIIIIIIVE! Absolute banger. Enough of the babbling. As you may know, I am reet Yorkshire. One of the traits of being a proper Yorkshire lass is loving a bargain (aka being a tight arse with yer money ha) Sooooo you can imagine my excitement when i hit up the local mum2mum baby sale this weekend. The name "mum2mum" annoys me because it's not just mum's that are involved in raising a child - there's dad, friends, grandparents, aunties, uncles, etc. But that's probably not going to be a catchy business name so I get it. Sorry, another babble. I got all this for £7! 9 items for £7! That's less than 80p per item! The Minnie Mouse outfit (I bloody love Disney) brand new is £15! So I'm £8 up already. And I can't be arsed to find out how much the other stuff cost but let's say I've saved a crap-tonne. ...

F is for Friends (and 50!)

I have this super lame title because this is the 50th post! I am well impressed that I've managed to keep it up for this long. It's also titled this because I watch way too much Sesame Street and they have the letter of the day. Anyway, my little monkey has been a reet social butterfly recently. She deffo didn't get that from her parents. Auntie Rachel kindly chauffeured us to the play gym. Squidge liked staring at the boys in the walker best. Mummy and Auntie Rachel liked the fish fingers butties. (we're not sure how her hair got like that but can we all agree that's it's bloody hilarious!) Then we visited Auntie Kaleigh and her little lass who loves babies so obviously they're besties. She will definitely be taking squidge on her first night out in 16 years time.  Then my panto mother (I believe that everyone should have a panto mother) popped by with her sprog who is so diddy and cute and makes my child look like a reet chunk (explai...

My First Mother's Day.

monkey got me up at 6.10am and had vomited on me by 7am. However she also fell asleep in my arms and we had a two hour cuddle. So I forgave her. Just about. We spent the day with both sides of the family and it was lovely. The Top 3 Things That Happened: • squidge got me disney DVDs for my present (I'm now up to 27/55 animated features, wahey!) • we gave wiggles a bath and the amount of dirt and fluff in the bath water was well impressive • my grandma put a tea towel over her face and sung the "Streets of Cairo" tune (video below, it's a masterpiece)

A Whole New World.

Sooooooo I'm slowly getting used to being alone with my baby while Dale is at work. I'm no longer in a state of total panic and I'm not counting down the hours till Dale gets home. I'm still unsure, wobbly and a bit lost but it's going in the right direction so yay :) To pass the time I've been introducing my little chunk to Disney films (it's never too early to start inflicting your own interests and hobbies onto your children!) So far her favourites are Moana, Fantasia and Aladdin. When I say favourites, I mean films that she actually pays attention to for a few minutes at a time. I am aware that she isn't really capable of film preferences at eight weeks old. I am also very glad she isn't old enough to tell me to stop singing along to A Whole New World and such Disney bangers.
